Start in Stockholm, scene of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium, then enter Denmark via ferry and overnight in Copenhagen with a picture stop at the Little Mermaid statue. A peaceful Kattegat & Oslofjord cruise in first-class outside two-berth cabins takes you to Norway for an overnight stay in Telemark, a guided visit of Vemork (of The Heroes of Telemark movie fame), plus Bergen, one of Norway’s most picturesque cities, and a special dinner with local specialties await you. A relaxing cruise on beautiful Sognefjord and a spectacular ride on the Flam train are included before boarding the regular train to Oslo, Norway’s capital. From Oslo, fly to Tromsø and enter the land of the “Midnight Sun.” An orientation and visit to the Arctic Cathedral are included. Enjoy spectacular ferry crossings on Ullsfjord and Lyngenfjord, with breathtaking views of the Lyngen Alps and their glaciers before arriving in Alta. Explore the North Cape Visitor Center, a sheer cliff rising 1,000 feet from the Atlantic Ocean. Then, enter Finland, cross the Arctic Circle, and stop at Santa Claus Village to receive your Arctic Circle Certificate. Stay overnight in Rovaniemi, with a chance to join an optional dinner at a Sami home. Via the international ski resort of Lahti, arrive in Helsinki, where guided sightseeing and a special dinner awaits you as a farewell to beautiful Scandinavia. Continue to St. Petersburg for a 3-night stay, including a special dinner with traditional Russian delicacies, guided sightseeing, and visits to the Hermitage Museum, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and Catherine Palace (if closed, visit Pavlovsk Palace instead).
