Fascinating Israel with Jordan
About Tel Aviv, Israel
Arrive in Tel Aviv and enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel, as well as an excursion to the Valley of Elah, the Monastery of the Trappist Monks at Latrun, and the ancient port of Jaffa. Start your travel through the Holy Land, enjoying visits to all its famous sites like Caesarea, Haifa, Acre, Nazareth, and Cana. Highlights are a stay at a kibbutz, where you will hear about kibbutz life during an evening lecture, a cruise on the Sea of Galilee, a visit to the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, and more. Four nights in Jerusalem include visits to the cliff-top fortress of Masada, which you will ascend by cable car; to the Dead Sea to experience the feeling of buoyancy in the heavy water, and receive a salt-scrub gift; to the Old City for a guided walking tour along Via Dolorosa, to the Wailing Wall, King David’s Tomb and much more; to Yad Vashem, the Israel Museum, and to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. A farewell dinner awaits you at your hotel on the last evening in Israel. Then travel via the Allenby Bridge, Jerash, the best-preserved Greco-Roman city in the Middle East, and Um Quais to Amman, Jordan. On your way to the “rose-red city” of Petra, stop in Wadi Rum and experience a spectacular four-wheel drive through the sand dunes. A full day of guided sightseeing includes a walk down the Siq, the narrow gorge made famous in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Admire the Treasury and sip tea in a Bedouin tent. Next, travel to the Dead Sea via Kerak and Wadi Mujib. Two nights here allow time for an included excursion to Madaba, Mount Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land, and Bethany Beyond the Jordan.
