Paris, Geneva with Mont Blanc & Lucerne
About Luzern, Switzerland
French cheese…many are so special they have official protection from the European Union. Swiss cheese…although it’s still yummy, it’s full of holes and seems to be missing important ingredients—kind of like many vacations you may try to arrange on your own. Unlike Swiss cheese, your Monograms vacation to France and Switzerland will not have holes in it. In fact, on this 9-day vacation, Monograms has diligently handled the vacation details and logistics, so you can spend your time in Paris, Geneva, & Lucerne exploring, relaxing, and enjoying French and Swiss cheese. We’ve arranged your hotel reservations, daily breakfast, sightseeing, transportation between cities, and transfers from/to your hotels to/from the train stations. Plus, we’ve arranged the services of a Monograms Local Host®. This feature, offered only by Monograms, ensures you’ll have someone in each city to answer questions, give you guidance, and help ensure your vacation runs smoothly.Your vacation begins the moment you arrive in Paris, as we can pick you up at the airport and seamlessly whisk you to your selected hotel. Here, your Local Host will greet you with a set of materials to familiarize you with the city and to help you get settled. The next morning, after included breakfast, we’ll pick you up at your hotel for guided sightseeing with an expert local guide. You’ll hear inside stories around the must-see attractions, such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. We’ll take you inside Notre Dame Cathedral, dating back to 1163, and to the Louvre Museum, the world’s most well-known and visited art museum, where you’ll see da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. And never fear…we’ve secured VIP access for you, which means you get to skip the line. After all, why waste your time waiting in line when you can be up close and personal with the museum’s amazing treasures? During your full free day in Paris, you may want to explore the artist village of Montmartre; shop at the designer boutiques or at the Galeries Lafayette, where we have secured discounts for you; enjoy a drink or meal on the famous Champs-Elysées; or take an excursion to the Palace of Versailles or to Claude Monet’s Giverny. Then you are off to Switzerland via the high-speed TGV train (first-class). In Geneva, your guided sightseeing with a local expert includes the Jet d’ Eau, Europe’s tallest water fountain, and the Floral Clock, a masterpiece of technology and floral art. We’ll also take you inside St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Romanesque–Gothic church best known for John Calvin’s sermons during the mid-16th century. In Lucerne, your guided sightseeing with an expert local guide features the Lion Monument, commemorating the Swiss Guards killed during the French Revolution; a walk through the charming Old Town with its pedestrian-only streets; and a walk across Chapel Bridge, Lucerne’s most famous landmark originally built in the 14th century.A highlight of your vacation is an excursion from Geneva to Chamonix & Mont Blanc. We’ve included a cable-car ride to the top of Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest peak, where you’ll see spectacular views of the Chamonix Valley and the Alps. You’ll also have leisure time in Chamonix to explore on your own.And did we mention your package includes transportation between the cities? You’ll travel first-class on the high-speed TGV train from Paris to Geneva and first-class between Geneva & Lucerne. We’ll even take you to/from the train stations and make sure you get on the correct train! We’ve also arranged coach transportation from Geneva to Chamonix. Between the transportation and transfers we’ve included, the sightseeing and guides we’ve arranged, and the hotels we’ve booked, you just have to show up ready to have fun. We’ve handled the rest—including making sure you have a Local Host throughout your stay—so that unlike Swiss cheese, your vacation has no holes and is all you want it to be!
